Grants from the Yrjö Jahnsson Foundation for first-year doctoral studies in economics are open for application from 4–15 May 2026. Applicants must be nominated by economics departments and must begin their first year of doctoral studies in economics in autumn 2026 or spring 2027.

Grants for second-year doctoral studies in economics are also available for applicants who received a Yrjö Jahnsson Foundation grant for their first year of studies in the May 2025 application round. These grants are awarded based on academic performance.

A general call for applications open to all applicants will take place from 1–30 September 2026.
